Hello, my name is Amy, and I’m 69 years old. My husband, Jim, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease 2 years ago. It was devastating. But we’ve been managing ok. Although recently, he started pacing non-stop, waking up several times a night, and yelling at himself when he saw his reflection in the mirror or window as if it were someone else. Once when he didn’t know who I was, he tried to hit me.
I was at my wit’s end and made an appointment with Jim’s doctor. She explained about agitation in Alzheimer’s disease and helped me understand what was going on. I’m here to discuss how Jim is doing after starting a different type of therapy.
